Two San Diego County faculties have been named Nationwide Blue Ribbon Colleges – Helix Constitution Excessive College in La Mesa and Westview Excessive College in Torrey Highlands.
The designation rewards private and non-private elementary, center and excessive faculties that shut achievement and alternative gaps for college students who transfer on to realize excessive studying requirements.
“I applaud all of the honorees for the 2022 Nationwide Blue Ribbon Colleges Award for creating vibrant, welcoming, and affirming faculty communities the place college students can be taught, develop, attain their potential and obtain their desires,” mentioned Secretary of Schooling Miguel Cardona.
California faculties maintain 29 of the 297 spots among the many 2022 Blue Ribbon faculties, which have been revealed Sept. 16.
In saying the awards, California State Superintendent of Instruction Tony Thurmond mentioned, “As we proceed to get better from the pandemic, this award validates the onerous work of educators throughout the state on behalf of our college students. At one time, Helix positioned within the backside third of colleges within the Grossmont Union Excessive College District, officers mentioned following the announcement. They credited changing to a constitution faculty and implementing a 4×4 block schedule as two causes for Helix’s achievement.
