Mihir started Tuesday’s competitors on the Gaylord Nationwide Resort and Conference Middle in Nationwide Harbor, Maryland by appropriately spelling gypsophila, any of assorted crops of the genus Gypsophila within the pink household. Within the second spherical, he appropriately answered the multiple-choice phrase that means query, “What’s a reprisal?” deciding on, “an act of retaliation, as for an harm or different hurt.”
The 11-year-old certified for the nationwide bee by profitable the San Diego Union-Tribune Countywide Spelling Bee on March 17. His profitable phrase was sabreur, a noun that means one who fences with a lightweight dueling sword.
