The Poway Unified College District has been honored for its innovation in establishing the “By way of the Lens of Fairness: Bounce Beginning Pathways to Rewarding Careers” program.
North Island Credit score Union introduced the group’s 2022 Innovation in Training Affect Award as a part of its function as a number one sponsor of the Classroom of the Future Basis.
The district obtained $10,000 as a part of the award. The funds will likely be used to broaden profession and school readiness applications for under-represented scholar populations throughout the district, provided as a part of the School and Profession Technical Training curriculum.
The objective is to extend work-based studying alternatives, from enhancing work-readiness curricula and profession counseling, to granting early school credit score and business certifications.
“I’m particularly happy with how our district has labored arduous to enhance entry for traditionally underrepresented college students in high-demand STEM fields corresponding to laptop science, engineering, well being sciences, and enterprise/entrepreneurship,” stated Superintendent Marian Kim Phelps. “Earlier publicity and exploration of those areas helps to encourage extra college students in pursuing their passions and desires in highschool, school, and future careers.”
The annual Innovation in Training Awards program honors classroom applications, educators, and college students in San Diego County faculties that “mannequin the way forward for Okay-12 schooling.”
